Etudes en France simplifies the application process for international students

Etudes en France is a comprehensive online platform that manages all of the enrollment procedures to higher education institutions in France up until the visa request. With one common application on the Etudes en France platform, international candidates can apply to several higher education programs in France with the assistance of Campus France Thailand agents.

Before applying to programs on the Etudes en France platform, candidates must verify all prerequisites and deadlines, including French proficiency requirements. Students who do not have the test result when submitting their Etudes en France application, can provide a registration to a French test while awaiting to have the final results. The programs availability and prerequisites are provided by French institutions, candidates should contact directly the institution if they need clarifications about the requirements.  

OVERVIEW OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS

There are two main elements to obtaining a student visa: Campus France Thailand and France-Visas. You will use multiple platforms during the process, and must complete the four steps below:
 

For the Campus France Thailand application, complete steps 1 and 2:

1. Complete an online application on the platform Etudes en France following the Etudes en France Application Guide.

2. Pay the Etudes en France application fee (detail down below)

For the Student Visa, complete steps 3 and 4:

1. IF YOU ALREADY HOLD AN ADMISSION LETTER (Students already accepted)

You already hold an admission letter from a French school or exchange program: You are a study abroad, exchange, dual degree student. You have been accepted into a French language class, a professional training or vocational program, or a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program. You must follow the "Pre-Consular" application process.

2. IF YOU WISH TO APPLY (NEW CANDIDATE/ students not yet accepted to any program)

You have not yet been admitted to any program, and you wish to apply through Campus France Thailand in this early-bird round to a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in a French institution. You must follow the "New candidature"(student not yet accepted) application process. 

IMPORTANT NOTES ON THIS PROCESS

·       The Campus France Thailand team is only able to begin processing your application after you have submitted the application fee

·       You need a unique ID number generated by Etudes on France in order to submit your payment, which is why you need to complete the Etudes en France application first.

·       Once your Etudes en France application is processed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Campus France Thailand. A printed version of this email will be requested at your visa appointment. 

·       After you receive the confirmation email, you can move forward to complete a student visa application via France-Visas and schedule a visa appointment with  TLS Contact. 

·       **THIS EEF PROCESS IS ONLY APPLIED TO THE STUDY PROJECT OF MORE THAN 90 DAYS**

FIND YOUR CATEGORY AND STUDENT TYPE

Identifying yourself within one student type is essential to understanding the Campus France and Etudes en France application process.

The first thing you need to do as a prospective student in France is understand your student type. Knowing your student type is critical for completing the Etudes en France application correctly, understanding how Campus France’s role, and accessing the correct instruction materials.

There are six distinct student types that fall into two overarching categories, describing generally the way in which you are using the Etudes en France application and working with Campus France.

The six distinct student types are:

1.       DAP Candidates – Students using Etudes en France to apply to enter a French university at the Licence 1 level. These candidates may apply to up to three L1 programs using one application.
 

2.       HDAP Candidates – Students using Etudes en France to apply to enter a French university at the Licence 2, Licence 3, or Masters level. These candidates may apply to up to seven programs using one application.
 

3.       Study Abroad/Exchange/Dual-Degree - Pre-Consular Applicants – Students enrolled in a US college or university who will study abroad in France, in any type of institution, for a period of over 90 days.
 

4.       Independent - Pre-Consular Applicants – Students who have been admitted independently to a non-degree-granting program in France. This may be a certificate program, a FLE (French as a foreign language) program, an art or gastronomy program, etc. If you are not earning a Licence, Masters, or Doctoral degree during your program in France, you are an independent student.
 

5.       HDAP Allégé - Pre-Consular Applicants – Students who have applied directly to a French institution of higher education and already gained admission to a L2, L3, or Masters program. Essentially, if you’ve been admitted to a degree program in France by applying directly through the institution, you will still need to complete a Pre-Consular Etudes en France application to apply for a visa, and you are considered HDAP Allégé (which is a simplified HDAP application).
 

6.       Doctoral Students - Pre-Consular Applicants – Students who have been admitted to a doctoral program in France by applying directly through the French institution. These students may still be required to complete a Pre-Consular Etudes en France application if they plan to apply for a student visa.

The EEF application fee of 2023-2024 is fixed at : 

·       2,000THB - Pre-consular applicants enrolled in an exchange program or a double degree.

·       3,000THB - Candidates students (DAP and HDAP) and pre-consular applicants in any other case

EXEMPTIONS

Students exempt from the Etudes en France Application fee: 

·       Students who are recipients of a French government scholarship or Thai Government Scholarship for the academic year for which they are applying; 

·       Students who hold a French Baccalauréat awarded within the last four academic years;

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

·       Payments are final and not refundable. Any request for eligible refund must be done within 60 days of payment in writing to bangkok@campusfrance.org. (Case by case)

·       The application must be complete with the required documents uploaded and submitted. If applications are incomplete when submitted and when payment is made, the review of the application may take longer than the 3-day or 3-week review time published. 

·       The student must be reachable by phone throughout the entire process.
